Support for Changemakers

Many Grassroots groups do not have access to technology and need support to get their voices heard. This was the first mandate of Issue TV’s mission statement. Make media to elevate causes that need public support. When Hilda Bih a quadriplegic radio host who focuses on womens issues in Cameroon needed a new wheelchair, we made a video and raised funds through crowdfunding to help her buy an electric chair, thus giving her much needed independence.

When Issa Nyaphaga needed his United Nations Speech video subtitled and finished we helped him - and then embarked on a decade of film making creating Radio Taboo - producing both the radio station and the film that supports his village, N’Ditam. Here is the video we made supporting HITIP.org when they were able to bring water to remote regions suffering from drought.

When citizens of the Algarve needed a film to educate their communities about the dangers of fossil fuel drilling off ther pristine beaches we produced a film and sponsored a tour of the film all over Portugal to influence public opinion. Within a year and a half, the nation committed to ending fossil fuel development

When we travelled to Washington DC lobbying congress with the Dependents of Navajo Uranium Workers, we realized that this disenfranchised population of mostly women in their 70’s and 80’s didn’t have a way to share their story with those from whom they needed help. Many didn’t speak English and had never left their corner of the Navajo Nation. We worked with them to produce a website, posters, a film and business cards to help them raise funds to further their cause.
